The Paul-Ehrlich-Institute (Federal Institute for Vaccines and Biomedicines) is responsible for the approval of clinical trial applications and other tasks involving medicinal products with blood preparations, vaccines, sera, tissues and tissue preparations as well as ATMPs, xenogenic medicinal products and genetically engineered blood components.
